Job Overview:

The Food & Beverage Supervisor at Encore Hospitality is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the food and beverage outlets within the hotel. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent service standards, managing inventory, and maintaining a high level of guest satisfaction. The Food & Beverage Supervisor plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience and ensuring smooth and efficient service operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Supervision & Staff Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food and beverage staff, including servers, bartenders, and kitchen personnel.
    • Provide training and support to staff, ensuring they adhere to service standards and company policies.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to improve service quality and productivity.
  2. Guest Service & Satisfaction:
    • Monitor and ensure that guests receive prompt, courteous, and efficient service at all times.
    • Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
    • Enhance the guest experience by anticipating needs, offering recommendations, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
  3. Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily operations of food and beverage outlets, including dining rooms, bars, and banquet facilities.
    • Ensure that service areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
    • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and service.
  4. Inventory & Ordering:
    • Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, and place orders as needed to maintain stock.
    • Conduct regular inventory checks and manage inventory control to minimize waste and optimize cost-efficiency.
    • Ensure proper storage and handling of food and beverage items to maintain quality and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  5. Financial Management:
    • Assist in managing the budget for food and beverage operations, including labor costs and supply expenses.
    • Review financial reports and assist in analyzing performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
    • Implement cost-control measures and strategies to achieve budgetary goals.
  6. Health & Safety Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations and standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections of service areas, kitchen equipment, and food storage to ensure adherence to safety guidelines.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment for both staff and guests.
  7. Coordination & Communication:
    • Collaborate with other departments, including housekeeping and front desk, to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
    • Communicate effectively with team members and management to coordinate activities, address issues, and implement improvements.
  8. Administrative Duties:
    • Prepare and maintain reports related to food and beverage operations, including sales, inventory, and staff performance.
    • Assist in scheduling staff shifts and managing labor costs to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in hospitality or food and beverage management is a plus.
  2. Experience:
    • Previous experience in food and beverage service, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or management role.
    • Experience in a hospitality or hotel setting is preferred.
  3. Skills:
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
    • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on enhancing the guest experience.
    • Good organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
    • Basic knowledge of financial management, inventory control, and cost containment.
    • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and other relevant software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including food and beverage items.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including bending, reaching, and working in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
  • Indoor environment with exposure to varying conditions depending on the service area and operational needs.
