Position Details

Department: Food & Beverage

Job Title: Food & Beverage Manager

Reports To: Director of Food & Beverage

Supervises: N/A

Primary Objective of Position: To assist in the effective management and direction of F&B operations, ensuring quality service, supervision of employees, monitoring food production quality and consistency, cost control, and inventory management. Manages daily F&B shift operations, monitors compliance with policies, standards, and procedures, maintains the operating budget, and ensures standards and legal obligations are followed.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in managing day-to-day F&B operations.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and communicate respectfully with guests and team members.
  • Demonstrate initiative and contribute to the success of the F&B division.
  • Make decisions to ensure proper service and event execution.
  • Foster a team environment through respect, coaching, feedback, recognition, and effective communication.
  • Support team development via cross-training, deployment, and delegation.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks efficiently, multi-task, and ensure accuracy.
  • Handle inquiries courteously and professionally.
  • Oversee additional departments as needed.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and uniforms.
  • Supervise daily shift operations, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
  • Support and supervise monthly self-inspections.
  • Manage staffing levels, forecasting, and scheduling.
  • Drive revenue and coverage.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Conference Services for events.
  • Update goals and KPIs monthly to monitor progress.
  • Develop and communicate goals, monitor trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Provide above-and-beyond guest service and handle guest concerns proactively.
  • Review guest satisfaction surveys and respond to service requests promptly.
  • Train staff on Forbes service standards and ensure proper execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments as necessary.
Physical Demands
  • Walking, talking, seeing, hearing, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other physical activities in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of F&B operations, preparation, and beverage/wine service.
  • Excellent math skills for inventory and financial management.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work cohesively with team members and maintain confidentiality.
  • Positive, flexible, self-motivated, and energetic personality.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
Education & Experience
  • High School diploma required; Hotel and Restaurant Management degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of managerial experience in restaurant or F&B operations.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications preferred; Food Handler’s Certification required.
Salary Range

$75,000 - $80,000 annually
