Job summary

Simmons Prepared Foods Inc is seeking an Automation/Controls Engineer to design, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems for our food and beverage processing lines. You will develop SCADA, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and reduce downtime.

The role requires experience in Allen-Bradley/Siemens platforms, SCADA tools, and integration with MES/ERP systems, with travel to support multiple facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in controls engineering/SCADA development.
• Experience in food or beverage manufacturing preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems for food and beverage processing equipment.
• Develop and maintain SCADA systems for real-time monitoring, data logging, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with FDA/USDA and HACCP requirements in control system designs.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and maintenance to optimize process control and reduce downtime.
• Integrate control systems with MES and ERP platforms for traceability and batch management.
• Support CIP and SIP automation strategies and maintain documentation.
