Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Guam is seeking a Part-Time Food & Beverage Attendant to serve guests, greet patrons, take orders, and handle payments. The role requires cash-handling experience, English fluency, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

A Food Handler’s Certification is required, and a health certificate plus ABC card are needed. The position is local hire with a competitive hourly wage of $10.00 plus weekly service charge distributions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Two years of cash-handling and Food & Beverage experience; hotel experience preferred.
• Fluent in English (speaking, listening, reading and writing).
• Must obtain a government-issued Food Handler’s Certification.
• Able to work nights, weekends, holidays and inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Handle reservations, greet customers, take orders, serve dishes, and process payments.
• Ensure SOP Basic standards per Departmental Operations Manual.
• Operate outlets hands-on and attend daily briefings.
• Know menu and food & beverage items.
• Master service sequence for buffet and a la carte service styles.
• Deliver food and beverage with speed and accuracy.
• Contribute to guest experience by Crowne Plaza standards and service behaviors.
• Liaise with supporting departments for daily operation and quality.
• Establish rapport with guests.
• Carry out other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Adhere to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety policies.

What’s the job?

Food & Beverage Attendants (Servers) are responsible for handling reservations, greeting customers, taking orders, bringing dishes, cleaning tables, and handling payment transactions.

• To ensure that SOP Basic standards are adhered to in order to achieve the level of service established in the Departmental Operations Manual.


• To take a hands on approach in the operation of the outlet(s)


• To attend daily briefing on preparation, service and menu.


• To be knowledgeable of the food and beverage items in the restaurant


• To master and perform the service sequence standards for both buffet and a la carte service styles.


• Serve food and beverage to guests according to prescribed service standards and procedures with emphasis on speed accuracy.


• To contribute to overall guest experience metrics through the delivery of the Crowne Plaza Brand Standards and service behaviors


• To liaise with the supporting departments on daily operation and quality.


• To establish a rapport with guests maintaining good relationship.


• To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.


• To have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Hotel’s Policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.


• To attend all required training sessions/programs.


• To ensure cleans and maintain equipment, tools, fixtures, service area in the station assigned.


• To be responsible for cost saving on guest supplies, food supplies, electricity, water, etc.

What We Need From You

• Education - High School Diploma is required


• Service years - two (2) years of experience in cash-handling and Food & Beverage role. Hotel experience preferred.


• Language - Fluent in English (speaking, listening, reading and writing)


• Knowledge and skills


• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests and employees.


• Must be able to obtain a government-issued Food Handler’s Certification.


• Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather.


• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships internally and externally.
