Job summary

West Texas Food Bank seeks a dependable driver to support daily food pickups and deliveries. You will load items from vendors, deliver to the Food Bank for sorting and packaging, and maintain accurate pickup records for inventory.

Role requires a clean driving record, ability to lift over 50 lbs, and comfort engaging with vendors. 18+ years old with background check and DOT physical. Training and safety compliance are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clean driving record; comfortable driving a larger vehicle.
• Must be 18 years old.
• Background check required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for vendor interactions.
• Positive impression to donors.
• Familiar with forklift and pallet jack.
• Able to lift/carry >50 lbs.
• ServSafe preferred.
• Valid Driver License/ Class C.
• DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Make morning runs to designated entities and load items for the Food Bank.
• Keep accurate records of products picked up.
• Call on vendors that have requested pickups.
• Maintain routine truck maintenance.
• Report vehicle issues to Operations Manager.
• Follow industry standards.
• Truck driving constitutes ~60% of time.
• Pull orders and assist with warehouse cleaning.
• Set up and cleanup distributions/outreaches.
• Stay current on trainings.
• Transport recycle materials to recycling center.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
