Job summary

Rusty Lantern Markets is seeking a hands-on Food & Beverage Trainer to train, coach, certify, and develop our Food & Beverage teams across locations. This field-based role involves extensive travel and direct collaboration with employees and managers in active kitchen environments.

The trainer will support onboarding, ongoing skills development, certification, and the growth of future Food & Beverage leaders, ensuring operations meet quality, safety, and financial targets.

Qualifications

Food & Beverage Trainer

Full-Time, Salaried - Field-Based - Extensive Regional Travel*

Rusty Lantern Markets is seeking a hands-on Food & Beverage Trainer to help train, coach, certify, and develop our Food & Beverage teams across our locations.

This is a field-based role for someone who enjoys working directly alongside employees and managers in an active kitchen environment. The Food & Beverage Trainer will support new employee onboarding, ongoing skills development, certification, operational execution, and the development of future Food & Beverage leaders.

What You'll Do

• Deliver hands-on training and certification for Food & Beverage team members, Kitchen Leads, Kitchen Managers, and Food & Beverage Managers.
• Coach teams on food quality, recipes, portion control, production planning, food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards.
• Reinforce proper waste, shrink, receiving, inventory, and food cost practices.
• Help managers understand how daily operational decisions impact sales, margin, labor, waste, shrink, and profitability.
• Coach teams on product knowledge, suggestive selling, sampling, customer engagement, promotions, Loyalty, and other sales-building initiatives.
• Support Kitchen Managers and Food & Beverage Managers with leadership and team development.
• Provide hands-on training and support for new products, equipment, programs, SOPs, and company initiatives.
• Identify training and execution opportunities and provide ongoing coaching and follow-up.

What We're Looking For

• Strong foodservice, restaurant, convenience foodservice, or comparable operational experience.
• Experience training, coaching, or developing employees and managers.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, food safety, portion control, inventory, waste, shrink, and food cost.
• Strong communication, coaching, organization, and follow-up skills.
• A hands-on approach and the ability to teach by demonstrating, observing, coaching, and providing feedback.
• Ability to work independently and travel extensively throughout an assigned region.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules based on training and operational needs.
