Food and Beverage Server - Jasper, AB (Athabasca Hotel)

Athabasca Hotel in Jasper, AB is seeking a Food and Beverage Server. The position offers a pay rate of $15 an hour and is a permanent, full-time role.

Job Details:

  • Location: Jasper, AB
  • Hours: 35 to 44 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Work Environment: Noisy, with odours typical of a restaurant. Staff accommodation is available in a rural area. Relocation costs are not covered by the employer.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Must be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages.
  2. Address customers' complaints or concerns.
  3. Prepare and serve specialty food at customers' tables.
  4. Present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travellers cheques or room billings.
  5. Describe menu items including daily specials for customers.
  6. Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations.
  7. Advise on menu selections.
  8. Balance cash and record sales.
  9. Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs.
  10. Describe and advise on wine selection.
  11. Greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages.
  12. Serve food and beverages.
  13. Take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff.
  14. Assist clients/guests with special needs.
  15. Provide customer service.

Required Certifications:

  • Food and Beverage Server Training
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • ProServe Program

Work Conditions: The role requires bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods. It is a fast-paced environment, and the job may involve handling heavy loads (up to 9 kg or 20 lbs).
