Job summary

Together in Omaha, NE seeks an AmeriCorps Community Access Coordinator to expand regional food access beyond pantry operations, coordinating orders, home deliveries, and partner distributions. You will help reduce barriers to food access and connect participants with services in a trauma-informed, participant-centered setting.

The role includes scheduling, logistics, and volunteer coordination across multiple access points and weekend distributions to reach families, seniors, and individuals

• Valid driver's license preferred (if assisting with deliveries).

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in scheduling pantry pick-up appointments.
• Coordinate daily participant pick-up orders with pantry staff.
• Prepare and verify participant orders for accuracy.
• Contact participants regarding scheduled pick-ups, reminders, or changes.
• Provide information about Together services and community resources.
• Help identify barriers to food access and connect participants with appropriate service options.
• Support priority shopping hours for older adults, individuals with disabilities, families with young children, and other participants who may benefit from a lower-traffic shopping experience.
• Welcome participants during priority shopping hours and assist with navigation, food selection, and resource referrals.
• Assist with preparing and coordinating emergency food orders for individuals and families experiencing urgent food needs.
• Respond to same-day emergency food requests under staff supervision.
• Coordinate emergency pick-ups and referrals to appropriate community resources.
• Ensure emergency food assistance is documented accurately and delivered in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with staff and partner agencies to connect participants with additional supportive services when appropriate.
• Coordinate home delivery schedules and participant communication.
• Assist with route preparation and organization.
• Support volunteers assisting with deliveries.
• Ensure delivery documentation is completed accurately.
• Monitor participant satisfaction and report concerns to staff.
• Prepare food orders for community partner agencies.
• Coordinate distribution schedules with partner organizations.
• Assist with loading and unloading partner deliveries.
• Maintain communication with partner agencies regarding inventory and scheduling.
• Support the expansion of new community distribution locations.
• Assist with occasional weekend food distributions designed to increase access for participants who are unable to visit during weekday hours.
• Help coordinate volunteers, participant flow, food packing, and event logistics.
• Support outreach efforts to promote weekend and special distribution opportunities within the community.
• Assist with daily movement of food and supplies between regional locations.
• Support inventory organization for community access programs.
• Help ensure food safety standards are maintained during packing and transportation.
• Maintain accurate records of distributions, deliveries, emergency food assistance, and participant services.
• Assist with data collection for AmeriCorps performance measures.
• Provide guidance during packing events and distribution activities.
