Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in New Jersey is seeking a Folding/Gluer Operator to set up and operate folding/gluing machines for carton production. You will demonstrate proficiency in various folding operations and adjust equipment to meet customer specifications, while maintaining a clean and safe production area.

The role requires at least two years of hands-on experience with folding/gluer machinery, the ability to guide feeders and packers, and willingness to work overtime during peak periods.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience operating a folding/gluing machine.
• Ability to direct feeders/catchers and packers to start/stop based on equipment/quality issues.
• Able to perform mechanical adjustments to folder/gluer.
• Willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
• Able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Sets up glue system, bar code scanners and pack station.
• Operates folder/gluer in accordance with customer specifications and current standard operating procedures.
• Maintains equipment and machine area.
• Performs other job duties as assigned.

GENERAL PURPOSE

• Must be able to effectively direct feeders/catchers and packers to start and stop working based upon equipment or quality issues.
• Must be technically inclined and able to perform mechanical adjustments to folder/gluer.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periods.
• Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

The starting rate is $29 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
