Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Kentucky is seeking a Folder Gluer Apprentice to learn and set up the feed section of the folder/gluer machine while assisting the operator in daily tasks. This role includes cross-training across functions and eventual progression to full operator duties within the plant.

The position requires readiness to work overtime and to participate in comprehensive training with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in a manufacturing environment.

Summary

The Folder Gluer Apprentice is responsible for the correct set up of the feed section of the machine along with assisting the machine operator with other duties. This position will cross-train in all functions and tasks with running the folder/gluer machines in our facility. Future folder gluer operators will come from the folder gluer Apprentice pool.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for setting up the feed section of the machine in a timely manner.
• Ensuring that the sheets placed in the machine are in proper placement.
• Overall quality and cleanliness of the machine.
• Assist the operator on all aspects as required during training.
• Fill in during the absence of the operator.
• Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Overtime is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The starting rate is $22.49 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
