Job summary

CGS is seeking a FOIA Paralegal to support the legal mission of a large federal agency. The role involves legal review, FOIA request processing, and other litigation support tasks in a full-time, mid-level capacity.

Strong emphasis on document review, redaction, and applying FOIA exemptions. Ideal candidates have paralegal certification or JD, or are law students with at least one year of study, and experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, and FOIA processing.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate, JD, or law student (ABA-accredited) with at least one year of study completed.
• At least one year of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience is helpful.
• Experience with FOIA requests and eDiscovery/document review tools is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct searches and analyze results to separate non-responsive from responsive documents and screen for privilege or FOIA exemptions.
• Redact and code responsive documents.
• Perform legal research and draft legal documents.
