Job summary

Farmer J is a fast‑casual, farm‑driven restaurant expanding to NYC in 2025. As a Front of House team member, you’ll greet guests, take orders, ring up purchases, and keep the dining area welcoming. You’ll be the face of Farmer J, ensuring service aligns with our standards and guest experience.

Ideal candidates have 1 year in a high‑volume cafe, are comfortable with Toast and MS Office, and share a passion for real food and sustainability. Flexible schedule includes nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1 year in high‑volume, high‑quality fast‑casual or café‑style restaurants.
• Comfortable using tools like Toast, Microsoft Office, and other basic systems.
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
• Appreciation for real food: scratch cooking, seasonal ingredients, and sustainable practices.
• Clear, positive communicator with a team‑first mindset.
• Calm under pressure and quick to adapt in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and have basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as business require.

• Communicate effectively with kitchen and barista team members to ensure smooth service.
• Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines, including proper handwashing and sanitizing.

Job Overview

Food & Customer Service is our focus – we give a fork! As a member of our Front of House team, you’re the face of Farmer J—the first point of contact for every guest.
