Job summary

Portland Golf Club in Portland, OR is seeking a part-time server to deliver exceptional dining experiences for Members and guests. A polished, professional presence and a passion for hospitality are essential as you greet guests, offer menu guidance, and ensure seamless service.

You will collaborate with Hosts, Bussers, Bartenders, and Kitchen Staff, handle orders and wine pairings, and maintain high standards of professionalism. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Job Details: Job Location: PORTLAND, OR 97225, Position Type: Part Time, Position Summary Servers at Portland Golf Club deliver exceptional, personalized dining experiences to our Members and guests. This role requires a polished, professional presence, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to anticipating Member needs. Servers work collaboratively with the dining team to ensure that every visit feels seamless — from the warm greeting to the fond farewell.

Key Responsibilities

Member Experience & Hospitality

• Greet Members and guests warmly, by name when possible, and establish a welcoming tone.
• Provide knowledgeable, confident menu guidance including daily features and wine pairings.
• Anticipate needs and personalize service for a premium private club experience.

Order Management & Service

• Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them promptly into POS.
• Serve all courses professionally and in proper sequence.
• Monitor tables, refill beverages, and clear plates in a timely, unobtrusive manner.
• Ensure Members’ satisfaction throughout their meal, adjusting service as needed.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Hosts, Bussers, Bartenders, and Kitchen Staff to maintain smooth service flow.
• Communicate special requests, allergies, and timing needs clearly and promptly.
• Support teammates by assisting with sidework, table resets, and pre- and post-shift duties.

Standards & Professionalism

• Maintain a polished appearance and professional demeanor at all times.
• Follow Portland Golf Club’s service standards, including steps of service and timing goals.
• Handle Member concerns with grace, escalating to management when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service areas.

Qualifications: Qualifications & Skills

• Previous serving experience in fine dining, upscale restaurants, or private clubs strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of wine, cocktails, and food pairings a plus (training available).
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and carrying trays for extended periods.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
