Job summary

Buddy Brew Coffee in Sarasota seeks a friendly Barista to join our team. You will greet guests, take orders, prepare hot and cold drinks, and ensure accuracy in cash handling while delivering a standout coffee experience.

We value enthusiasm, attention to detail, and teamwork. Training is provided, and the position includes base pay plus tips on top of a friendly schedule, with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced cafe setting in sunny Florida.

Qualifications

• Experience in food/beverage service, customer-facing roles.
• Barista experience preferred but not required.
• Must maintain sanitation standards and comply with health regulations.
• Eligible to obtain Florida Food Handlers certification within 90 days.

Join our team at Buddy Brew Coffee, a specialty coffee company, and become a key player in delivering exceptional coffee experiences to our guests. We are currently seeking a passionate and customer-focused individual to fill the position of Barista.

Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly as they enter the cafe


• Guide guests through our diverse drink and food menu, answering any questions they may have


• Take orders with careful attention to details such as coffee blend preferences, dairy choices, and sugar requirements


• Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages following Buddy Brew Coffee recipes


• Serve beverages in a high-quality and presentable manner


• Handle cash transactions and process credit card payments accurately


• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work station


• Ensure stock levels of ceramic, cutlery, and paper goods are adequate


• Regularly check and maintain brewing equipment, reporting any issues in the shift report


• Adhere to local health and safety regulations


• Communicate guest feedback to managers for continuous improvement


• Actively suggest menu additions or alterations based on customer preferences


• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills:

• Previous work experience in the Food/Beverage industry


• Barista experience is preferred but not required


• Hands-on experience with brewing equipment


• Knowledge of sanitation regulations


• Food Handlers certification in Florida (or ability to become certified within 90 days)


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays


• Basic math and cash handling skills


• Ability to understand and respond to guest preferences


• Ability to work in close proximity with others in a cooperative manner
