Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Food & Nutrition Services Associate at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both a nutrition professional and a caregiver, providing delicious and nutritious meals for patients, staff, and others when they need it most. You will be joining a hard-working and compassionate team that is so vital for the day-to-day functions of our hospital. In this role:

  • Prepare various foods and beverages for patients.
  • Always prepare and portion foods following established guidelines, recipes, and production sheets.
  • Consistently cover, label, and date foods and stores them properly according to procedures.
  • Follow proper food handling techniques (gloves, handwashing, hair covering, no eating on the job, etc.)
  • Always prepare and set up food and supplies in sufficient quantity to cover service requirements. Restock as needed.
  • Always check daily menu needs and complete advance preparation for the next day.
  • Help to reduce cost by minimizing waste and over production.
  • Act in a cost-conscious manner by utilizing leftovers appropriately.
  • Promptly report food shortages, outdated items or any products received in an unacceptable condition.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Food Handlers Permit or ServSafe Certification required.
  • Food service, hospital diet office, and cash register experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
