Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operate and understand functions of all machinery and setup procedures in the machining department.
  2. Perform skilled duties in layout, setup, and operation of various equipment for close tolerance work.
  3. Verify setup and parts for conformity, proof programs, coordinate engineering changes, and establish production standards.
  4. Set up turning equipment independently, recognize and correct machine issues, and use precision measuring instruments.
  5. Implement root cause corrective actions and manage MRB dispositions.
  6. Create rework instructions, assist with rework, and perform rework as needed.
  7. Maintain high quality and efficiency during setups and operations.
  8. Troubleshoot process deviations, modify processes, and serve as backup machinist.
  9. Develop and ensure process stability and repeatability.
  10. Perform other duties as directed by Engineering.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job training or equivalent experience to operate all Machined Shop equipment.
  2. Current Level 3 machinist certification, capable of completing Level 4 observational requirements.
  3. Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
  4. Ability to interpret complex blueprints, sketches, process sheets, and use precision measuring instruments.
  5. Knowledge of shop mathematics and judgment in machine setup and operation.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to wear PPE, lift 35 lbs, stand and walk constantly, and operate multiple controls.
  • Visual acuity for close and distance vision, color, depth, and focus.
  • Frequent use of hands for manipulation, grasping, and repetitive motions.

Additional Requirements:

  • Complete a 90-day introductory period.
  • Be in current position for at least 6 months.
  • Maintain good standing with no corrective actions.
