Job summary

University of Florida/IFAS is seeking an Extension Assistant Professor (12-month, non-tenure track) to lead the Florida Master Naturalist Program and deliver an integrated Extension and teaching program. The successful candidate will oversee program management, curricula, and instructor networks within the Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at UF.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in wildlife ecology or related discipline required.
• Ability to travel as needed and collaborate with diverse partners.
• Experience instructing FMNP or similar educational programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) and oversee the FMNP Advisory Board.
• Manage an instructor network (~160 instructors) including recruitment, training, and support.
• Update and revise FMNP curricula to keep courses current and relevant.
• Maintain databases and quantify program outcomes (instructors, graduates, courses).
• Apply for grants and conduct fundraising to support FMNP operations.
• Teach Florida Environments (WIS 2000), a 3-credit undergraduate course.
