The FM-IM Physician plays a critical role in providing comprehensive healthcare to patients at our rural health clinic in Athens, Texas.
This position provides primary and preventive care to a diverse patient population, with a focus on the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of both acute and chronic health conditions.
The physician will care for patients across the lifespan and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to promote continuity of care, improve health outcomes, and address the unique healthcare needs of our rural and underserved community. Current or committed to acquire unrestricted Texas license (TSBME) and unrestricted DPS and DEA licenses
The FM/IM Physician utilizes strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills to provide comprehensive care for a wide range of acute and chronic conditions across the lifespan. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for educating patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, and coordinating care with specialists. The physician should be skilled in chronic disease management, preventive care and patient education, with a commitment to evidence-based, compassionate care for rural and underserved populations. Strong time management and organizational skills are important for managing a diverse patient population in a busy outpatient setting, along with proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation.

Family Circle of Care is a health center that operates seven medical clinics, one dental clinic, and a mobile medical clinic serving the East Texas cities of Tyler, Athens, and Jacksonville and surrounding communities.
