Job summary

INFOSYS NOVA HOLDINGS LLC is seeking a Fly-By-Wire & Secondary Control System Engineer in the Fort Worth, TX area. The role requires 7+ years in aerospace, with hands-on experience in FBW and secondary flight control system definition and certification.

You will collaborate with suppliers to develop concepts, verify requirements, and support certification activities while traveling occasionally to supplier facilities and regulatory authorities. Proficiency in English and French is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering required.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in aerospace field.
  • Direct involvement in FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system certification.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (electrical, hydraulic, avionics, autoflight).
  • Understanding of Part 25 certification process.
  • Modeling and dynamic simulation experience is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and French.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform integration of FBW & Secondary Flight Controls on the aircraft.
  • Support development of concepts, design approach and philosophy with the Flight Control system supplier.
  • Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the Flight Control System.
  • Review/Prepare test procedures and test reports for certification.
  • Execute test rigs and/or aircraft testing.
  • Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft.
  • Occasional travel to supplier facilities and regulatory authorities.

Job Title: Fly-By-Wire & Secondary Control System Engineer

Job Location: Wichita, KS

What are your contributions to the team?
  • Perform the integration of the FBW & Secondary Flight Controls system on the aircraft.
  • Support the development of concepts, design approach and philosophy with the Flight Control system supplier.
  • Perform/Review analysis to evaluate concepts feasibility.
  • Develop, validate and verify technical requirements of the Flight Control System.
  • Review/Prepare technical requirements
  • Review/Prepare test procedures
  • Execute test rig and/or aircraft testing
  • Review/Prepare test reports in support of certification activities
  • Resolve problems arising from in-service aircraft.
  • Troubleshooting, root cause determination, corrective action definition and execution
  • Ensure compliance to the ARP4754 development process.
  • Support trade o studies and life cycle cost analysis for future programs.
  • Ensure the design process and the resulting equipment implementation is in line with Customer requirements and standards.

Occasional trips to the Suppliers facilities and Regulatory Authorities, as well as on-site support to the Final Assembly Line.

How to thrive in this role?
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in aerospace related field.
  • You have been directly involved in the definition and certification of at least one FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system.
  • You possess a good understanding of all facets of system definition, integration, and certification and have a knowledge of aircraft systems and interfaces (e.g., electrical, hydraulic, avionics, autoflight).
  • You have knowledge of Part 25 certification process.
  • You have experience in modeling and dynamic simulation of flight controls electrical and hydraulic actuators is an asset.
  • You have a working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow simulation environment.
  • You have some familiarity with other simulation environments such as ADAMS, or design tools such as CATIA would be an asset.
  • You have good knowledge of MS Oice and Requirements Management tools is an asset.
  • You are fluent in both English and French.
  • You have the ability to work with limited supervision, be organized, a team player, and a self-motivated person, be Customer focused, and be able to work under pressure.
  • You must also show initiative, innovation, a strong sense of responsibility and integrity, adaptability, have good interpersonal communication skills, have a good engineering judgement, and drive for results.
