Page Mechanical Group, Inc. in Houma, LA is seeking EXPERIENCED Flux Core Welders for the Houma area. Duties include flux-core welding, fabrication, blueprint reading, and equipment maintenance.

Candidates must weld in multiple positions, read a tape measure, and demonstrate consistent, high-quality workmanship. Must pass drug/background checks and have reliable transportation. On-site work with weekly pay at $28/hour.

Responsibilities

• May layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies using ruler, square, scribe or templates.
• Positions pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Clamps, holds, tack-welds, grinds, and bolts components to position for welding.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Operates cutting equipment including torches and various power and hand tools.
• Remove rough spots from workpieces, using portable grinders, hand files, or scrapers.
• Safely operates iron worker, grinders, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machine, welding machine, and various pneumatic hand tools.
• Assembly of components with some fabrication of equipment needed for the job with minimal supervision.

• Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 LBS
  • Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
  • Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
  • Ability to work in cramped and/or confined spaces when required
  • Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock
• Documents Required:
  • Driver's License/Identification Card
  • Social Security Card/Birth Certificate
• Must be able to pass a drug test.
• Must be able pass background check (once hired on with customer)
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have own welding shield and PPE (hard hat, steel toes, gloves, & safety glasses.)
• Pay:
  • $28.00/Hour
  • Weekly Pay
  • Pay Schedule: Monday - Sunday
• Schedule:
  • 10-12 Hour Days (with weather permitting)
  • Monday - Friday
  • Weekends (as needed)
