Job summary

OrthoCarolina Spine Office is seeking a Fluoroscopy Technologist to provide real-time X-ray guidance during spine procedures and injections. The role supports surgeons to ensure precise imaging, minimize radiation exposure, and uphold patient safety standards.

The technologist will operate C‑arm fluoroscopy, assist with patient positioning, document imaging, and maintain radiation safety in a fast-paced orthopedics environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT/AMA-approved Radiologic Technologist program.
  • ARRT registry-eligible or ARRT registered preferred.
  • CPR certification recommended.
  • Experience with fluoroscopy in orthopedic, surgical, or pain management settings preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment (C-arm) to provide real-time visualization during spine procedures and injections.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to ensure accurate positioning, imaging quality, and procedural efficiency.
  • Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety standards.
  • Prepare procedure room, ensure proper equipment functionality, and troubleshoot imaging technology as needed.
  • Assist with patient positioning and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout procedures.
  • Accurately document imaging procedures and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

The Fluoroscopy Technologist will operate advanced imaging equipment to provide real-time X-ray guidance during spinal procedures and injections. Essential Functions:

  • Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment (C-arm) to provide real-time visualization during spineproceduresincluding injections.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to ensureaccuratepositioning, imaging quality, and procedural efficiency.
  • Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety standards.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strongproficiencyin fluoroscopy and advanced imaging techniques.
  • Knowledge of spinal anatomy and procedural workflows within orthopedic settings
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Technicalproficiencywith PACS and Epic.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the American Medical Association.
  • Experience with fluoroscopy in orthopedic, surgical, or pain management settings preferred
  • Professional license or certification requirements:
  • Registered Radiology Tech by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or ARRT registry eligible.
  • Current CPR certificationrecommended.

A Typical Day:

A typical day involves working alongside spine surgeons in procedural settings. The technologist prepares and calibrates fluoroscopy equipment, ensures all safety protocols are in place, andassistswith patient positioning. Throughout procedures, theyprovidereal-time imaging guidance to support precise needle placement and device positioning, while continuously monitoring radiation exposure. Between cases, they collaborate with clinical staff, document imaging records, and prepare for upcoming procedures.
