Job summary

Idaho Pacific Holdings in Ririe, Idaho, is seeking a Flumer to move potatoes from raw receiving to raw sort using water and a shovel, and to perform peel loss tests. This role supports production by keeping bays, flumes, raw sort and waste areas clean, while conserving water and limiting chemical use.

The Flumer follows Run Orders, adjusts conveyor speeds to maintain steady flow to the Peeler, monitors the pump pit for mud, and reports issues to the Shift Manager.

Responsibilities

• Ensure potatoes are fed to the pit conveyor that is in use.
• Keep bins, work area, and trenches cleaned and washed out as necessary. Accomplish efficient cleaning by starting a new bay while the other bay is cleaned.
• Follow the Run Order as provided by the Shift Manager (flume from the correct bays as instructed by management).
• Set and/or adjust conveyor speeds to ensure the Peeler has an uninterrupted flow of product without overloading the Peeler. Work with others to coordinate this as needed.

Summary:

The Flumer will have the responsibility to move potatoes from the raw receiving area to the raw sort area through the use of water and a shovel. In addition, the Flumer will conduct tests to measure peel loss. Will keep bays, flumes, raw sort, and waste plant areas clean and free of debris while being conservative with water usage and cautious with chemical usage

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure potatoes are fed to the pit conveyor that is in use.
• Keep bins, work area, and trenches cleaned and washed out as necessary. Accomplish efficient cleaning by starting a new bay while the other bay is cleaned.
• Follow the Run Order as provided by the Shift Manager (flume from the correct bays as instructed by management).
• Set and/or adjust conveyor speeds to ensure the Peeler has an uninterrupted flow of product without overloading the Peeler. Work with others to coordinate this as needed.
• Monitor the pump pit for excess mud, pump and/or clean out as necessary. Ensure holding tanks are full prior to pumping.
• Conduct peel loss tests for both peelers (when running) at least two times per shift.
• Immediately report problems to the Shift Manager
• Ensure all hoses are properly hung and do not pose a hazard after each us. Do not allow hose nozzle to make contact with floor.
• Use caution around moving parts and equipment, and around open, exposed trenches, or trenches with high foam. Request and use de-foamer as needed. Ensure area is safe prior to entering.
• Will be required to relieve Raw Sort personnel for breaks and lunches.
• Keep areas of responsibility clean and well maintained during shift hours, and ensure area is clean for the next shift.
• Comply with all safety regulations; follow all plant and safety policies
• Follows all company and regulated good manufacturing practices.
• Completes all other responsibilities as necessary
