Job summary

Firefly Aerospace is seeking a Fluids Ground Support Equipment (FGSE) Design Engineer to develop ground fluid systems for our launch fleet across Texas facilities. You will design P&IDs, sizing, equipment specs, and support safety-critical components, while coordinating fabrication, installation, and testing with GSE teams.

The role requires travel to Cedar Park and Briggs, TX, and a solid foundation in fluids, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and ASME B31.1/B31.3.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in design, assembly, test, or operations with fluid systems.
• Willingness to travel 30% for GSE build and activation.
• Strong fundamentals in fluids, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.

Responsibilities

• Design ground fluid systems with P&IDs and sizing calculations for cryogenic, multiphase, and compressible/incompressible fluids.
• Coordinate fabrication, installation, and checkout of GSE and associated systems.
• Lead testing activities, safety-focused procedures, and test plan execution.
• Participate in internal and external design reviews and readiness reviews.
