Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island, FL seeks a proactive Project Manager to govern scope for test campaigns and flight components within the Lunar Permanence program. You’ll craft and manage resource-loaded schedules, production budgets, staffing needs, and risks, coordinating across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain while guiding major technical reviews and deliverables.

You will champion schedule integrity, data collection, and performance metrics to keep milestones aligned with NASA

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management; ABET preferred
• 4+ years in thermal/fluids systems, test engineering, or project management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Experience with collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, SharePoint

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Project Schedule(s) within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
• Manage hardware status and supporting internal/external demand
• Oversee budgets and capital equipment/facility project implementation
• Collaborate across departments to gather data for decision making
• Interface with NASA to provide schedule and testing insight
• Maintain analytics and reporting to highlight performance metrics
• Identify and close risks; support program reviews and deliverables
• Ensure timely product delivery in coordination with the business office
• Track program metrics such as budget, schedules, procurement, and resource plans

As part of a passionate and accomplished team, you will work at the intersection of program management, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and integrated supply chain. This role is a part of the zero-g propellant management team. The team is rethinking how space systems are designed, with a high-performance architecture, efficient reusability, and rapid design iteration. We are seeking a proactive, service-oriented individual with excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and analytics skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for managing the project scope of test campaigns and flight component production. This includes developing, managing, and reporting on resource-loaded schedules, production budgets, staffing needs, program risk, and variances to the plan. You will support major technical efforts such as program reviews and deliverable products by setting clear expectations to meet these milestones and gathering inputs from across the team and creating a final product.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Develop and maintain Project Schedule(s) within the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
• Manage hardware status, supporting both internal and external demand
• Manage budgets and implementation of capital equipment and facility projects
• Collaborate with all departments to access and collect data that informs decision making
• Interface with NASA customer to provide schedule and insight for testing efforts
• Maintain software tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight performance metrics and other key information
• Reduce and close risks and identify opportunities
• Partner with business office to ensure timely delivery of product to customer
• Manage key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: Budget, engineering schedules, equipment schedules, procurement schedules, production schedules, program management status reports, and resource plans

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems, or similar), Business Administration, or Operations Management from an accredited college or university. ABET is preferred and others will be considered
• 4+ years of experience in thermal/fluids systems, test engineering, or project management
• Desire to learn thermal/fluids systems project management, new processes, test engineering, and spacecraft development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills
• Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Experience with collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, Sharepoint, etc.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

• Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellite development, production, or operations
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM)
