Job Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair to facility and equipment, which may involve plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment repair or similar tasks.
- Act as backup for the call person in case of emergency, respond timely and appropriately.
- Handle all equipment in a safe manner to prevent accidents and demonstrate good working knowledge of tools and their safe use.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and instructions, and complete reports as requested.
- Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment, test/start generators weekly, and maintain related equipment.
- Inspect and maintain fire alarm systems, including testing, fire doors, audible and visible alarms, smoke detectors, and record data as required by state or facility regulations.
- Check the condition and readiness of fire extinguishers monthly.
- Inspect and maintain the lighting system throughout the facility.
- Inspect and maintain plumbing systems, replacing or repairing faucets, toilets, urinals, traps, drains, basins, and bathtubs as needed.
- Repair or refinish furniture in rooms, offices, and dining areas as needed.

- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in maintenance or facility operations required.
- Knowledge of standard practices, procedures, and tools in the general building and maintenance trades preferred.
Licenses, Designations, and Certifications
- Valid state driver's license (if required by state).
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).
- First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
