Job summary

Quaker Houghton seeks an on-site technician to perform first-level technical data recording and assessment within our manufacturing environment, following standard procedures and with supervision available when needed.

You will participate in adding chemicals, preparing shift reports, maintaining lab equipment, interacting with customer personnel, and adhering to Life Saving Rules. Overtime may be required, and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or lab setting preferred.
• Ability to operate basic lab equipment safely and accurately.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and in a team.

• Perform addition of chemicals such as coolants, cleaners and biocides as directed.
• Conduct routine bio-stick dip tests and washer validations.
• Liaise with customers to communicate coolant parameter changes and record results.
• Prepare detailed shift reports and assist with equipment calibration.
• Operate or assist with industrial equipment as needed.

Job Summary

Perform first level of on-site technical, data recording and assessment within the manufacturing environment of Quaker Houghton customers. Follows standard procedures and has readily available supervision or management where necessary to provide a high standard of Fluidcare support.

Job Description

Participate in addition of chemicals; including coolants, cleaners and biocides as directed by site staff. Perform bio-stick dip tests of all machine sumps and central systems. Liaise directly with the customer so that changes in coolant parameters are highlighted and can then be acted upon and enter results in appropriate databases. Prepare detailed shift reports. Assist in maintaining and calibrating all laboratory equipment; such as scales, pH meters, glassware, incubators, etc. in accordance with site control plan. Supports site staff general organization initiatives (inventory, storage rooms, labeling, etc.) May work in manufacturing environment with union associates. Interact with customer's production and technical personnel and other suppliers. May be required to operate hand tools, shop tools and equipment. May be required to operate industrial equipment, such as: fork trucks, power washers, tuggers, etc. May require working flexible hours. Carries out other duties as directed. Provide other specifically agreed Fluidcare services as and when required by the Site Manager and/or Lead Technician – this may include operating a fork truck, etc. Must be able to safely work in a variety of potentially hazardous situations while adhering to Quaker Houghton's Life Saving Rules. Perform routine part sediment analysis and washer validations. Overtime may be occasionally required for this position.
