Job summary

Relativity Space seeks a Vehicle Fluids Hardware Development Engineer I in Long Beach, CA to design and implement hardware for Terran R fluid systems, collaborating with design, manufacturing, and propulsion teams to deliver reliable, high-performance components.

You will help develop manufacturing processes, lead DFMs, design test setups, and coordinate development and qualification testing, all while engaging closely with production teams for rapid iteration on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science/engineering/technology/math required.
• Hands-on hardware experience with fluid and/or mechanical systems.
• Ability to deliver on ambitious schedules; creative solutions may be required.
• 1+ year of related full-time experience, internships, or projects.
• Available to start full-time within 30–60 days of applying.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing processes for high-rate production and improved engine performance.
• Collaborate with design and analysis to simplify propulsion systems.
• Lead design for manufacturing (DFM) initiatives and participate in design reviews.
• Design test setups and coordinate/execute development, qualification, and acceptance testing; conduct data reviews.
• Participate in test failure investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Design, analyze, and procure tooling for part manufacturing and system testing.
• Create and maintain development build and test schedules.
