Job summary

NOV Fluid Technology in Conroe, TX is seeking a Fluid Lab Technician to support field operations and the R&D laboratory. You will be responsible for day-to-day receiving, testing, reporting, and handling of fluid projects.

You will perform lab testing, analyze results, maintain lab equipment, and ensure safety and sample integrity while supporting internal projects and development efforts.

Qualifications

• Experience or education in drilling fluids analysis.
• Background in rig operations; field experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of API drilling standards is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab testing, analytical reporting and maintenance and handling of lab equipment.
• Support internal operations by answering questions related to projects.
• Organizing and storing samples in accordance with safety requirements to ensure personnel safety and sample integrity.
• Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment.
• Assist the R&D Engineering group and Fluid Technology Manager with product and system development.
• Maintain compliance with API laboratory requirements.
• Maintain environmental compliance related to chemical handling and disposal.
