Job summary

Veolia UK is seeking a forklift operator at BAE Systems, Scotstoun, Glasgow G14 0XN. You will operate a forklift, collect waste from various areas of the site, and support daily waste management tasks.

The role requires a Counterbalance forklift licence, a current driving licence, and a solid understanding of health and safety. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, with Mon-Thu 07:30–16:30 and Fri 14:00 finish, and will benefit from Veolia’s diverse benefits.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift truck.
• Collect waste from various areas of the site using bins and drums.
• Operate compactor, wood crusher, baler once trained.
• Complete daily check sheets and defect sheets.
• Assist with loading/unloading waste vehicles.
• Sort waste streams in yard and storage areas.
• Handle non-routine waste collection/storage/processing.
• Assist with waste yard duties.

Salary: £15.09ph plus Veolia Benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week

Monday to Thursday from 07.30 until 16:30, 2pm finish on a Friday

What will you be doing?

• Operating a fork lift truck
• Collecting waste from various areas of the site in wheelie bins, tipper bins, on trollies and in drums
• Operating compactor, wood crusher, baler - once trained
• Completing daily check sheets and relevant defect sheets
• Assisting with the loading and unloading of waste vehicles
• Segregating and sorting waste streams in the waste yard and storage building
• Collecting, storing and processing, as applicable, non-routine waste
• Assisting with waste yard duties

What are we looking for?

• Similar operational manual handling experience
• Valid Counterbalance Forklift licence
• Current driving licence
• Good working knowledge of health & safety
