Job summary

Airgas seeks a Floxal Reliability Technician in Independence, OH. The role supports installation and maintenance of Floxal systems, with frequent travel to customer sites across the region. Strong safety focus and mechanical aptitude are essential.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of industrial field service experience, with HVAC or related credentials considered a bonus. Working hours are generally 7am–3pm, Monday to Friday, with remote capabilities and extensive travel.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school certification.
  • HVAC or refrigeration certification, electrical experience, or ASSE Medical Gas credentials are advantageous.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of industrial field service experience; preference for bulk cryogenic or gas generation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Safety adherence to protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in installation of Floxal systems at customer sites.
  • On-site maintenance and installation of nitrogen generation equipment.
  • Electrical repairs on systems including motor controls, relays, and alarms.
  • Piping system installations following SOPs.
  • Assist with routine preventative maintenance on N2 generation equipment.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 7am - 3pm

Position will be remote BUT Will require a lot of Travel

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Adherence: Strictly adhere to safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Support Installation: Assist in the installation of Floxal systems at customer sites.
  • On-Site Maintenance: Perform on-site installation and maintenance of nitrogen generation equipment.
  • Electrical Repairs: Analyze and undertake general repairs to electrical systems connected to N2 generation and cryogenic installations, including motor controls, relays, and alarm systems.
  • Piping System Expertise: Execute mechanical installations following company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Preventative Maintenance: Assist in executing routine preventative maintenance tasks on N2 generation equipment according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Undertake additional duties as assigned to enhance operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Trade school certification.
  • HVAC or refrigeration certification, electrical experience, or ASSE Medical Gas Credentials are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of industrial field service experience, with a preference for experience in bulk cryogenic or gas generation systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrated trainability and aptitude for learning.
  • Fundamental mechanical skills.
  • Proficiency in welding and brazing processes, especially silver brazing, is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, P&ID, layout drawings, design specifications, manufacturer drawings, and architectural drawings relevant to bulk delivery sites.
  • Capability to comprehend safety guidelines, material safety data sheets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency.
  • Ability to operate autonomously under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Clear and effective communication skills for relaying information to both customers and colleagues.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Displays independent judgment and initiative in problem-solving, customer interactions, and handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and robust teamwork skills.
Physical Demands
  • Regular movement throughout office and manufacturing locations.
  • Frequent active listening and information exchange.
  • Regular observation and assessment of information.
  • Computer use, telephone operation, and occasional driving of a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to lift/move materials weighing 25-75 pounds, including bending, twisting, reaching, climbing, and other physical maneuvers.
  • Essential sensory abilities, including talking, hearing, seeing, and using hands for various tasks.
  • Flexible availability for occasional overtime and extended periods of standing/sitting.
Work Environment
  • Noise levels ranging from moderate to high.
  • Exposure to varying outdoor temperatures.
