Job summary

Amentum’s Vit Plant in Richland, WA seeks a qualified candidate to support the Flowsheet Integration group within Plant Engineering, focusing on chemical processing, batch chemistry, and product compliance. You will interface with Operations, Maintenance, and System Engineers to ensure plant chemistry remains within tight specifications.

Requirements include a BS in Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, at least two years of relevant experience (DOE/DOD facilities preferred), and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related science or engineering field is required.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience; experience in processing DOE/DOD facilities preferred; 1 year job-related experience required per DOE O 426.2.
• Preferred: experience in chemical processing facilities; process flow diagrams, material balances, chemical processes; glasses or ceramics; statistics or statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning, operations, and maintenance of the WTP Facilities.
• Develop, review, concur with and/or assess engineering technical documents.
• Develop, review, concur with and/or assess management control procedures, technical procedures, or guides.
• Provide on-site technical support for flowsheet, sampling, batch processing, glass formulation, process control, data quality objectives, and product compliance topics.
• Interface with external organizations to resolve technical issues.
• Resolve condition report issues or other discrepancies as assigned.
• Assist with resolution of issues necessary to support plant operations and/or maintenance.
• Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing safety and quality in performance of work.
