Job summary

Oxy in California seeks a Flowback Operations Technician to support early-stage well production, gather readings, and prepare reports while following safety and environmental standards.

You will analyze data, perform flowback tasks per SOP/ROP, and manage sand rates with manual or automated systems. This role requires physical work, extreme-weather tolerance, and a 12-hour rotating schedule on site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical principles and basic calculations.
• Good communication and teamwork skills; able to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience with automation or troubleshooting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety and environmental regulations.
• Gather hourly/daily production readings and format reports.
• Analyze deviations in well test data and communicate findings.
• Perform flowback operations per SOP/ROP.
• Quantify daily sand rates from manual or automated measurements.
• Complete energy isolation and required work permits (JSA, LOTO, SWS).
• Troubleshoot e-dump systems and automated manifolds.
• Work a 12-hour rotating schedule and operate a company vehicle.
• Work in extreme weather (10-120 deg F).
• Inspect equipment, handle heavy components, and assist with maintenance.
