Job summary

Datacor is seeking a curious, early-career Software Engineer to join the Flow Simulation team. You’ll work on Fathom, Arrow, Impulse, and xStream, the fluid flow simulation applications engineers use to design and analyze piping systems.

This generalist role spans UI, application logic, data models, file formats, integrations, and build/test tooling, with onboarding and guidance from experienced teammates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience (internships, co-ops, and substantial academic or personal projects count)
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented language, preferably C# (VB.NET, Java, or C++ also welcome)
• Solid foundation in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
• Working knowledge of version control, including branching, commits, and merging
• Ability to write clean, readable, maintainable code
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, and the judgment to ask for help when stuck
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across all layers of Windows desktop applications, with guidance from senior engineers
• Diagnose and fix defects, including customer-reported issues escalated from Support
• Contribute to internal tooling, build automation, CI/CD pipelines, and test infrastructure
• Take part in the modernization effort, including new architecture and UI frameworks
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, and give and receive feedback in code reviews
• Share team duties such as build pipeline and bug-triage rotations
• Collaborate with engineers, QA, Product Management, and domain experts
• Use modern tools, including AI coding assistants, responsibly to keep improving your skills
