What We Do

We search public records and examine titles to determine the legal condition of property titles, primarily for residential properties. We copy or summarize recorded documents affecting the condition of title to the property. These roles may be located in production centers or branch offices, with workflow typically determined by geographic practices. In some cases, the Title Examiner gathers information and creates a commitment of title before passing it along to a Title Officer. This role involves varied and complex assignments, requiring breadth and depth of experience. Senior level status is achieved after experiencing a variety of situations and mastering skills. Senior Title Examiners actively mentor less experienced team members and serve as a resource for input and knowledge, with increased knowledge of state requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Examine the chain of title primarily for residential properties, with potential expansion into commercial and industrial properties.
• Perform complex title examinations requiring a high level of expertise.
• Abstract and analyze records such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and plat and map books to determine ownership, legal restrictions, and verify legal descriptions and record completeness.
• Write title products based on interpretation and application of procedural guidelines.
• Provide underwriting interpretation within established guidelines.
• Guide and mentor less experienced team members.
• Potentially have customer contact.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of title examination experience with demonstrated mastery of resources, skills, and knowledge.
• Multiple state licenses (as required) to operate across broad geographic areas.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service orientation.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Knowledge of legal terms used in title documents.
• Ability to read and interpret legal descriptions related to title orders.
• Strong knowledge of industry and company operating systems, tools, and applications.
• Experience with Florida Title Examination is preferred.

Pay Range: $26.21 - $34.95 Hourly

This hiring range is an estimate of the base pay at the time of posting. Pay is determined by factors including knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, and location.
