Job Description

The Set Medics seeks experienced and dedicated medical professionals to join our team as independent contractors for TV and film productions across Florida. As a Set Medic, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of cast and crew members during on-location shoots and studio productions. This position requires quick thinking, excellent medical skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid, emergency medical care, and health support during filming and production.
  • Monitor the health and well-being of cast and crew members, ensuring everyone follows safety protocols.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies or incidents, administering appropriate care until further assistance arrives.
  • Maintain a well-stocked medical kit and ensure all medical equipment is up to date and functional.
  • Collaborate with production teams to assess health risks and develop safety plans.
  • Document and report incidents and treatments following industry standards and policies.
  • Offer advice on health matters, including hydration, sun protection, and fatigue management.

Qualifications

  • Current EMT, Paramedic, RN certification, or similar medical qualification.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Previous experience as a Set Medic or similar role in TV, film, or live events is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety protocols for on-set environments.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and travel to various locations nationwide.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
