Job summary

Albrecht Foods in Delafield, WI is seeking a friendly Floral Clerk to greet shoppers, assist customers, and maintain a tidy floral department.

You will unpack and price fresh-cut flowers, care for plants, and handle custom orders by phone or in person. The role requires standing for long periods and occasional lifting.

Qualifications

• Previous retail, customer service, or basic floral/creative experience is preferred.
• Friendly, patient, and clear verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50–95 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet shoppers warmly, answer questions, and help customers.
• Sweep, mop, clean buckets, and remove dead leaves or condensation from the floral area.
• Unpack, strip, cut, condition, and price fresh-cut flowers.
• Water, trim, and care for green and blooming plants, hanging baskets, and cut flower displays.
• Take custom floral orders in-person or over the phone for birthdays, holidays, sympathy, and everyday occasions.
• Inflate balloons and assemble specialty gift items as needed.
• Keep the floral cooler, sales floor, and display racks clean, organized, and properly stocked.
• Rotate stock regularly to ensure maximum freshness and quality.

Ability to stand for long periods, reach, bend, use floral pruners/knives safely, and lift up to 50–95 lbs (such as handling heavy water buckets or large plant pots).

Availability

Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during peak floral/gift seasons (e.g., Valentine's Day, Mother's Day).
