Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company seeks a Floral Designer to create beautiful arrangements and support all aspects of the floral department, from bouquets to large events. You will collaborate with floral staff to drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service.

In this role, you will train partners, manage inventory, and assist with events and promotions while ensuring quality, sustainability, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Weaknesses in floral department operations should be avoided; strong floral design knowledge is required.
• Proficient handling of flowers, materials and design techniques.
• Basic knowledge of budgeting, profit and loss, labor reports, and inventory costs.
• Familiarity with automated reporting systems including inventory, cost of goods, scheduling, time and attendance, and labor.
• Basic mathematical skills for inventory assessment and ordering.
• Basic knowledge of SAP reporting applications.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and delegate responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication with partners, customers and community.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office functions.

Responsibilities

• Train and develop partners; schedule, plan, assign and direct work.
• Review historical data on sales, ads and promotions; co-manage inventory.
• Maintain and improve sales, financial results, public relations, product quality and work standards.
• Create stylish floral and plant arrangements appealing to customers.
• Provide consultations on price and type of floral arrangements for events.
• Oversee in-stock and maintenance of plants; manage sustainability and freshness.
• Plan, order and source products to ensure inventory control.
• Build displays for events, holidays, and promotions to promote sales.
• Promote sales and services within the community; attract new customers.
• Travel to off-site locations to design and set up arrangements for weddings/events.
• Coordinate with catering and bakery for package estimates.
• Collaborate with marketing on floral promotions campaigns.
• Greet customers and address questions and complaints.
