Job Title: Delivery Driver

Department: Grocery

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. Delivers product to customers. Responsible for vehicle cleanliness, inside and out.

Reporting Relations

Accountable to: District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Service Managers; Kitchen Department Manager; Floral Department Manager; Pharmacy Department Manager; Online Shopping Department Manager

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether in designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
• Delivers products to customers, collects payment, and makes change when necessary.
• Returns payments and beginning cash to store.
• Maintains food and groceries at proper temperature in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintains personal hygiene and dress according to company guidelines.
• Adheres to company policies and store guidelines.
• Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties and projects as required.
• Maintains and upkeeps delivery vehicles.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to see detail at near range
• Ability to perform medium work: lifting/carrying objects up to 50 pounds, frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying of objects up to 25 pounds
• Physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions
• Ability to enter/exit delivery vehicle multiple times daily, traverse stairs/rough terrain

Working Conditions

Exposed to dust, noise, temperature extremes, dampness, vibrations, equipment movement hazards. Work pace is fast to deliver products timely.

Special Requirements

Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions, age 18+ to drive company vehicle

Financial Responsibility

Responsible for payments received for deliveries
