Job Description

Assist in the design and/or merchandising of floral items and arrangements for display/sale or in response to customer requests. Provide various customer services. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Assist and greet customers promptly and provide them with great service
2. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions
3. Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders
4. Package orders effectively, safely, and efficiently
5. Keep merchandise and supplies in their proper areas
6. Maintain customer records and files properly
7. Assist customers in locating and selecting items
8. Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously
9. Assist in decorating and merchandising the department
10. Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized
11. Keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter
12. Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements, and fill balloons
13. Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and proper space allocation for merchandise
14. Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws
15. Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable
16. Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
17. Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum

• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and work with all levels of the organization
• Personal initiative and follow-through
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Skills for effective production, merchandising, and customer service related to sale of merchandise
• Ability to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate all production equipment safely

Desired

• Dependability and integrity in past work record
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices and safety
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service
• Experience operating a cash register and making change
