Job description

Assist in the design and/or merchandising of floral items and arrangements for display/sale or in response to customer requests. Provide various customer services. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist and greet customers promptly and provide excellent service
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions
• Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders
• Package orders effectively, safely, and efficiently
• Keep merchandise and supplies in their proper areas
• Maintain customer records and files properly
• Assist customers in locating and selecting items
• Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department
• Keep carts, tools, and supplies organized and in designated areas
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of floors and workspace
• Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements, and fill balloons
• Ensure proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and applicable laws
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable
• Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum

• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, labels, and training materials
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work professionally with all organizational levels
• Personal initiative and follow-through
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Skills in production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales
• Ability to safely handle cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and operate equipment

• Experience in grocery retail and customer service
• Experience operating a cash register and making change
