Job description

Assist in the design and/or merchandising of floral items and arrangements for display/sale or in response to customer requests. Provide various customer services. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist and greet customers promptly, providing excellent service.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Help design and create floral arrangements and other items to fulfill customer orders.
• Package orders effectively, safely, and efficiently.
• Keep merchandise and supplies organized in their proper areas.
• Maintain customer records and files properly.
• Assist customers in locating and selecting items.
• Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously.
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department.
• Keep carts, tools, and supplies organized and in designated areas.
• Ensure floors are clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements, and fill balloons.
• Ensure proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
• Operate cash register following company procedures, if applicable.
• Maintain flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, present information professionally, and work with all organizational levels.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Skills in production, merchandising, and customer service related to merchandise sales.
• Ability to safely work with cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and operate production equipment.

• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
