Warehouse Manager

Description

Billy Heroman's, Louisiana's largest florist company, is seeking a full time Warehouse Manager. The ideal candidate is organized, detailed oriented, has experience with warehouse management.

The Warehouse Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, while effectively providing support to the remote stores, design room, sales staff, greenhouse, plant division and delivery, as needed. The Warehouse Manager will also oversee the processing, care, and product rotation of all fresh flowers; inventory of supplies and merchandise along with managing the productivity of all warehouse team members, including creating schedules, and providing training, coaching, and mentoring; and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of staff and safe use of equipment.
• Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities.
• Knowledge of 80% or more of all flower varieties on hand at any given time
• Monitor cooler temperature in all flower coolers and report problems to facilities manager
• Follow up to clean and organize the fresh product in the back of the front cooler
• Maintain flower rotation throughout all coolers and all stores, which includes keeping the proper product rotation as preferred and specified by upper management
• Making sure all wedding and special event flowers are properly marked and separated for each event
• Make sure that flowers the design room needs from back cooler are brought to front cooler to keep the design room stocked
• Monitor equipment used for processing by ensuring sharpness and cleanliness of blades, leaf strippers, and cutters, etc.
• Receive and process all new inventory by ensuring all flower boxes are accounted for, and that all flowers ordered have arrived and meet the Billy Heroman’s expectation of quality.
• Process flower, supply, and merchandise orders from remote stores and ensure that they are delivered to the stores in good condition, according to the distribution chart
• Possess strong and growing knowledge of warehouse inventory, in order to locate, select and re-stock both new and existing goods when needed for main store operational use and remote stores orders
• Maintain all wedding props and party material

  • clean and put props away when event is over/ items are returned
• Oversee and provide direction to all warehouse team members
• Create weekly schedules for all warehouse team member and monitor hours for accuracy and labor costs
• Ensure that all flowers, left out at the end of the day, are consolidated and returned to the cooler with their like kings
• Ensure that all “Open” flowers get monitored and put away at their desired amount of openness and rotated for designer use
• Prepare carts in advance of flower deliveries, leave out by the back gate and leave space in cooler for truckers to be able to place boxes without damaging other product

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• 3+ years warehouse management experience
• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to handle exposure to varying temperatures, including working in storage cooler (approx. 35 degrees)
• Valid Driver’s License
