Job summary

Chimes District of Columbia is seeking a part-time floor technician to maintain clean, safe, and presentable spaces during the evening shift.

You will strip, seal, wax, and buff floors, clean carpets, operate floor care machines, and report issues. A high school diploma and at least six months of custodial experience are preferred. The role includes medical, life insurance, retirement with employer match, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of floor technician or custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly (75-100 lbs with assistance).
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish hard floors.
• Clean carpets using extractors and spot-cleaning equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain assigned areas.
• Operate floor care equipment, including scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and ride-on machines.
• Move furniture as needed to complete floor care.
• Perform equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Remove trash when required.
• Report maintenance issues, equipment needs, and safety concerns.
• Assist with inventory and general custodial duties as needed.
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm

What you will do

• Strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish hard floors
• Clean carpets using extractors and spot‑cleaning equipment
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain assigned areas
• Operate floor care equipment, including scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and ride‑on machines
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals safely and properly
• Move furniture as needed to complete floor care
• Perform equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance
• Remove trash when required
• Report maintenance issues, equipment needs, and safety concerns
• Assist with inventory and general custodial duties as needed
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies

Qualifications

• Knowledge of floor care equipment and floor maintenance techniques is a plus
