Job summary

Accela Springfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a reliable Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team. This full-time position covers 3P-11P shifts with rotating weekends and a focus on maintaining a clean, safe environment for residents.

You will operate floor care equipment, perform routine and deep-cleaning projects, and support teammates while upholding high safety standards. We value dependability and attentive care in our daily operations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a floor technician or in environmental services preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to lift, bend, stand and walk for extended periods.
• Dependable attendance and a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Strip, wax, buff, and maintain all types of flooring (VCT, tile, carpet, etc.)
• Operate floor care equipment including buffers, scrubbers, and extractors
• Perform routine and deep-cleaning floor projects as scheduled
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions throughout the building
• Follow proper chemical usage and safety procedures
• Support the Environmental Services team with general cleaning duties as needed
• Respond promptly to spills, safety hazards, and special requests
• Interact respectfully with residents, families, and staff
