Job summary

Forefront is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain clean, safe, and professional facility floors in a healthcare setting. You will perform stripping, waxing, buffing, and routine maintenance, supporting housekeeping and operations to uphold high standards.

The role is full-time, hourly, with a pay rate of $15.00 per hour. You will follow infection prevention protocols, document work, and assist Supervisors to ensure smooth department operations while contributing to patient and staff well-being.

Position Summary

The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of facility floors, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and routine floor maintenance. The Floor Technician also supports housekeeping operations as needed and assists Supervisors and Managers in maintaining departmental standards and operational efficiency.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• This is an full time hourly, non-exempt position. Extended hours may be necessary based on operational needs.
• Pay Rate: $15.00/HR

Essential Functions And Duties

• Perform daily floor care, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing as assigned.
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow infection prevention, safety protocols, and organizational policies.
• Report equipment maintenance needs, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the Supervisor.
• Document completed work according to departmental checklists and quality standards.
• Assist other EVS staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.

General Responsibility As Required For Position

• Responsible for acting in conformance with all facility and departmental policies and procedures including those relating to Human Resources, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, Health and Safety regulations, Compliance requirements, Patient Rights, Confidentiality, and HIPAA. Responsible for acting in conformance with accrediting agency standards.
• Attends department meetings as required.
• Demonstrates accountability to accept responsibility for personal/professional growth and any required certification/licenses, if applicable.
• Completes mandatory training and competencies annually.
