Overview

The Spartanburg Marriott is hiring a 3rd shift Floor Technician. The Floor Technician's primary responsibility is to keep our hotel’s floors clean. The Floor Tech will be responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas, and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Essential Functions

• Assure that proper cleaning equipment and chemicals are used when cleaning floors.
• Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas and other areas.
• Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
• Cleaning, dusting, mopping, stripping and waxing floors.
• Measuring chemicals correctly.
• Operating chemical dispensing units.
• Labeling chemicals correctly.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE proficiently.
• Removing spots from carpets.
• Performing bonnet and extraction carpet cleaning.
• Disposing of trash.
• Keeping log of floor areas, scheduled cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with all associates.
• Understand housekeeping terms, chemical and hazardous material handling, and sanitation/cleanliness standards.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during unanticipated rush periods.
• Report maintenance issues to Maintenance Techs and/or Housekeeping Supervisor.

Qualifications

Physical Demands
The Associate is required to constantly stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch. Constantly required reach and grasp. The Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, with various work hours and days, based on business needs. This position is mainly performed during 3rd shift.

Preferred Education and Experience
High school diploma preferred but not required. Proven cleaning experience.
