Job summary

Texhoma Christian Care Center is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain cleanliness of assigned floors and care for cleaning equipment in our Wichita Falls nursing facility.

We require 1–2 years of floor care experience, the ability to follow written and oral instructions, and the stamina to lift up to 50 pounds. You must be able to work weekends and comply with all health, safety and resident-rights policies. This is a full-time on-site role paying $14.00 per hour.

• Previous floor care experience required; 1–2 years preferred.
• Must understand and follow basic written and oral instructions.
• Able to move and lift cleaning equipment; lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must comply with health, safety and resident rights policies.
• Willing to work any day of the week, including weekends.

Description

Basic Function: Responsible for cleanliness and servicing of assigned floor areas and care of cleaning equipment; efficient expenditures of soaps, and similar supplies.

Position Requirements

Position Requirements, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Previous floor care experience is required; minimum of 1-2 years experience.
• Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
• Ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility and must regularly lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds, frequently lift, carry or push/pull up to 10-25 pounds and occaisonallylift, carry or push/pull up to 20-50 pounds.
• Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and/or machines where specific vision abilities required include color vision, depth perception, far vision, near vision, and peripheral vision.
• Turns, stoops, kneels, crouches, reaches, pushes, pulls, handles, stands, walks, speaks, does repetitive motion over 75% of shift.
• Occaisionally required to climb, do fine motor skills and smell.
• Ability to recognize differences in sound, such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative.
• Ability to recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operating problems or safety concerns.
• Ability to learn to adjust and operate electric-powered cleaning equipment. Ability to work with hand tools. Ability to work with hand tools.
• Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in vicinity and ability to cooperate and work with other employees.
• Ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.
• Basic knowledge of house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, etc., cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements.
• Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.
• Sufficient good health to properly discharge duties.
• Related experience is preferred, but not necessary.
• Ability to comply with Resident/Patient rights, all state/federal regulatory requirements, and all company policies and procedures.
• Ability to attend general orientation session and attend department orientation.
• Submit to TB Tine Test and return as instructed to read results or provide results of current TB Tine Test in the last 12 months.
• Must be employable by the Texas Nurse Aide Registry (NAR) – cannot be listed on the NAR as revoked; and cannot be considered unemployable by the Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR).
• Cannot be convicted of a criminal offense listed in the Texas Health and Safety Code (THSC), §250.006(a), or convicted of a criminal offense listed in THSC, §250.006(b) within the five years immediately before your application date.
• Must be able to work any day of the week, including weekends.
