Job summary

The Orchards at Canterbury on the Lake is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain all floor areas and uphold high standards of cleanliness. You will operate low speed floor machines, auto-scrubbers, extractors and vacuums, using PPE when handling chemicals and equipment.

Reports to the Housekeeping/Environmental Services Director and supports resident-focused care.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
  • Floor maintenance experience preferred.
  • Completion of competency training (provided by company).
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
  • Moving furniture before and after cleaning.
  • Cleaning, dust mopping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, and waxing floors.
  • Cleaning and extracting carpet.
  • Wall and ceiling cleaning.
  • Measuring chemicals correctly.
  • Labeling chemicals correctly.
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and storing equipment and PPE properly and proficiently.
  • Keeping an inventory of floor areas and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
  • Reporting maintenance and equipment issues to supervisor promptly.
  • Assisting with the hazardous waste and or trash collection as requested by the Director.
  • Resilient to noise.
  • Physically able to operate equipment.
  • Complies with safety procedures and all other policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned including regular housekeeping duties.

Floor Technician

The floor tech is responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas, and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This position is responsible for operating low speed floor machines, auto-scrubbers, wet and dry vacs, burnishers, carpet extractors and shop vacuums. This position requires wearing adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment. This position reports to the Housekeeping/Environmental Services Director.
