Job summary

The Orchards at Canterbury on the Lake in Waterford Charter Township, MI is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain all floor areas and sustain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. The role requires operating low speed floor machines, auto-scrubbers, wet and dry vacuums, burnishers, carpet extractors, and proper PPE when handling chemicals and equipment.

You will report to the Housekeeping/Environmental Services Director and support a resident-centered culture by following CARING values

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred.
• Floor maintenance experience preferred.
• Completion of competency training provided by company.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean offices, hallways, common areas, and other areas.
• Move furniture before and after cleaning.
• Clean, dust mop, mop, scrub, strip, and wax floors.
• Clean and extract carpet.
• Wall and ceiling cleaning.
• Measuring chemicals correctly.
• Labeling chemicals correctly.
• Clean, maintain, and store equipment and PPE properly and proficiently.
• Keep an inventory of floor areas and scheduling cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Report maintenance and equipment issues to supervisor promptly.
• Assist with the hazardous waste and/or trash collection as requested by the Director.
• Resilient to noise.
• Physically able to operate equipment.
• Complies with safety procedures and all other policies and procedures.
• Performs all other duties as assigned including regular housekeeping duties.

Floor Technician

The floor tech is responsible for the maintenance of all floor areas, and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This position is responsible for operating low speed floor machines, auto-scrubbers, wet and dry vacs, burnishers, carpet extractors and shop vacuums. This position requires wearing adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with chemicals and equipment. This position reports to the Housekeeping/Environmental Services Director.

Qualifications
