Job summary

Encompass Health in Texas is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain our facility's floor finishes, ensuring a clean and orderly space for patients, visitors, and staff. The role supports hospital operations by performing floor cleaning, buffing, refinishing, and routine housekeeping tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six (6) months of floor care experience preferred; on-the-job training available.
• Experience in general housekeeping is preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• Physical capability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds, including medical supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of floor finishes to create a safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Perform routine facility housekeeping tasks, including floor cleaning, buffing, carpet shampooing, and periodic floor refinishing.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as required within facility departments.
• Conduct cleaning tasks such as washing walls, windows, vacuuming ceiling vents, and disposing of trash and linen.
• Uphold a sanitary and organized facility through attention to detail and adherence to established schedules and procedures.
